Parnis 44mm White Dial Swan Neck Hand Winding Watch - a review

My latest acquisition, the Parnis 44mm White Dial Swan Neck Hand Winding Watch with Blue Hands. This is the first time that I bought a "homage" watch which is made in China as well as with a winding mechanism. For USD85 + postage (total damage: RM346.31), it was not too expensive experiement to see whether you can get value for money.

After waiting for 1 week, the package arrived from China. It doesn't come in a nice display box and there wasn't any documentation about guarantees given by the manufacturer. Oh well, can't expect the world if you pay peanuts. It came is a small cardboard box and warped in bubble-wrap.

Once I opened it, immediately I was impressed by the built quality. Smooth and clean lines. Even the leather strap was beautifully stitched.

The dial and the blue hands makes the package seems unbelievable. It looks like an IWC!

The crown feels solid and winding it is a joy. Every click of the internal ratchet can be heard subtly. Although it says it has a clutch to stop you from overwinding, I am not going to test that out at the moment. As it stand, if you wind it for 15 revolutions, you should be able to get 18 hours of power (it is said to be able to store 42 hours of power). As a matter of personal preference, I wind it once in the morning and once in the late evening.

The whole back piece is a display back and you can see the movement. Just beautiful.

In terms of accuracy, again, another surprise - its actually very accurate. For one week, it lost only a few seconds (when compared to my digital watch). First impression: a hidden gem and truly value for money!

The watch on my wrist.
